Kanex introduces new Thunderbolt 3 line at CES 2017

Connectivity specialist Kanex today launched a new Thunderbolt 3 line at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The new range of products includes the Thunderbolt 3 Travel Dock for MacBook Pro, a Thunderbolt 3.0 to eSATA 3 + USB 3.0 Adapter, and 1.6′ and 6.6′ Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C cables.

Priced at $149.99, the Thunderbolt 3 Travel Dock for MacBook Pro (K170-1048-SV131) offers a compact and simple solution for powering a modern MacBook Pro on the go, with enhanced connectivity that you’d typically find on a desktop. The adapter supports two HDMI ports, a USB port, Gigabit Ethernet port, and a USB-C port for pass-through charging. Simultaneous dual 4K video output, each at 60 fps from both HDMI ports is available, courtesy of the adapter.

Meanwhile the $129.99 Kanex Thunderbolt 3.0 to eSATA 3 + USB 3.0 Adapter (K170-1118-BK6I) adds eSATA connectivity to your Mac/PC alongside an additional USB 3.0 port. It’s designed to hook up to eSATA hard drives and can both power the storage drive as well as transfer data, all from a single cable.

Talking of which, the Kanex Thunderbolt™ 3 (40GBps) USB-C Cable (K158-1143-BK05M 1.6′; K158-1142-BK6F 6.6′) is also coming to CES 2017. Priced at $29.95 (1.6-foot length) and $69.95 )6.6-feet length) the cable supports video displays up to 5K 60Hz or simultaneously stream two video signals, each supporting up to 4K at 60Hz. On the data side, the Kanex Thunderbolt 3 cable provides up to 40Gbps throughput, eight times the max bandwidth of USB 3.0. The cable works with up to 6 daisy-chained Thunderbolt 3 devices, and provides up to 100W of charging for a laptop or notebook and 15W to bus-powered devices.

The Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C cables are available now for purchase at www.kanex.com. The Thunderbolt 3 Travel Dock and Thunderbolt 3 to eSATA Adapter will be available April 2017.
