This week saw a partnership launched between NETGEAR and Best Buy to promote a new router and network adapter bundle, designed to deliver a lag-free Wi-Fi experience for gaming, video streaming or surfing.
The new addition to NETGEAR’s Nighthawk line, the Nighthawk DST AC1900 DST Router & DST Adapter (R7300) combines a premium Wi-Fi router with a wall-plug Dead Spot Terminator (DST) adaptor eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones in the home.
While Best Buy will be featuring the new bundle installed, the company’s Geek Squad division will be supporting the combo with Geek Squad set-up, network capacity testing and network security.
The dual band router offers combined throughput up to 1900 Mbps – 1300 Mbs on the 5 GHz band and 600 Mbps at 2.4 Ghz. Three external antennas are fitted to maximise signal strength and coverage while the router’s internals are powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor.
The R7300‘s built-in DST technology enables add-on DST Adapters to eliminate dead zones with the push of a button. The DST adapter uses Powerline technology to rebroadcast the router’s wireless signal and connects to the network via electrical cabling in the home. It’s also fitted with a Gigabit LAN socket for wired connections plus a signal strength indicator.
The bundled 1 year Geek Squad Set Up & Support Service starts immediately, once customers arrive home with the product. Users will receive an e-mail outlining simple pre-set-up instructions, a quick-start guide and online video. Once initial setup is complete customers can call a toll-free number to complete configuration and benefit from unlimited web and phone support for the duration of the package.
The Nighthawk R7300 DST AC1900 DST Router & DST Adapter sells for $299.99, while the DST Adapter (DST6501) is also available as a standalone product at $79.99.
